This week on Baxie’s Musical Podcast I talk with Blake Watt from the band Family Stereo. After spending the last six years cranking out a number of amazing singles and EP’s, Family Stereo has finally released their debut album called “The Thread”. While some are calling the new record a collection of lush, folk-inspired pop songs, the music of Family Stereo is much more than that. Interestingly enough, Blake background puts him in a unique situation amongst other up-and-coming artists. Blake is the son of Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt from the successful 80’s British pop duo Everything but the Girl. But Blake is hardly riding on his family’s coattails. And the new record proves it.
