The Engineering Apprentice would observe our Chief Engineer and receive training in the functions of a Chief Engineer/Operator. This would include installation, maintenance, and operation of broadcast related equipment. They would also train in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing audio and data problems at the studio and transmitter sites. The apprentice’s training includes compliance with FCC and FAA rules and regulations as well. Our goal for the apprentice is to understand the Air Chain. They should be familiar with every piece of equipment and its purpose in getting the audio and data from the microphone to the studio and transmitter site to the radio and internet.
