Rockers The Killers are planning another hiatus just weeks after speculation about the band’s future surfaced after bassist Mark Stoermer’s chose to sit out the group’s Asian tour.

Fans feared the worst when guitarist Dave Keuning said he was sick of touring and the band pulled out of an appearance at Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit in California.

But the “Human” hitmakers have since confirmed they will be performing at the MTV European Music Awards in Holland on Sunday (10Nov13) and drummer Ronnie Vannucci has revealed there’s no split – but he and his bandmates need to “take a breather”.

The tells The Hollywood Reporter that The Killers’ MTV EMAs gig this weekend will be their last for a while, adding it will be “a little while” before they regroup.

He says, “I don’t think it will take an unnaturally long time for us to get guys together, but it’s time to take a breather and ground out a little bit… I think everybody is looking forward to putting their feet up for a little while and having some normalcy.”

Frontman Brandon Flowers has already revealed that he’s planning to make another solo album and Vannucci is hoping to record a follow-up to his 2011 album “Big Talk,” adding, “I think I want to make another record. I’m already starting it. I like to keep moving. I love that notion of momentum. I think some of the guys are just going to chill out, keep writing probably, make sure to get some rest.”
