The Seattle Seahawks won the NFC Championship on Sunday, Jan. 19, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 23-17. Seattle Seahawks’ running back, Marshawn Lynch, ran for 109 yards during the game, including a 40-yard touchdown in the third quarter, tying the game at 10-10. Richard Sherman, Seahawks’ cornerback, deflected a pass in the end zone with 22 seconds left that was subsequently intercepted by Malcolm Smith, saving the win and guaranteeing the Seahawks a spot in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos that will be played on Sunday, Feb. 2.
